I learned about Text4Baby while at BlogHer this summer. Here’s how they describe themselves:Text4baby is a free mobile service that sends critical health information to expectant and new moms timed to their pregnancy or baby’s development. Text the word “BABY” (or “BEBE” for Spanish) to 511411 to sign up. The messages were developed by government and non-profit health experts like the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and cover nutrition, immunization, and birth defect prevention, among other topics.
Text4Baby is an excellent resource for all expectant parents and all you need is a cell phone. Even a simple one is fine! I loved that idea-that everyone has access to something that makes their life easier, not just slickster iPhone users. (Ahem, me.)
Here is some more exciting news:
Moms who enroll in the text4baby service between September 1 and September 30 will be entered to win one of three one-year supplies of Johnson’s Baby products, courtesy of founding sponsor Johnson & Johnson. Moms can enroll online or via text (texting BABY or BEBE to 511411) and all enrollees who are still active as of 11:59pm EST on September 30 will be entered to win.
Now what new mom doesn’t want some free goods for her wee one? Enter now and then enjoy the great info. text4baby provides. And please, spread the news about this service to anyone you know. You’ll help the work toward safer babies.
